Re: Looking for a stang

Found a 97 cobra for 2k has a salvage title. It looks nice but I'd have to see in person to say if it would be worth it.

Re: Looking for a stang

A modular into a Foxbody will require a new tubular K member and some spendy headers to fit. I've considered it with my DOHC setup but like the classic idea better.

Nate's setup would be a good candidate. oOriginal 4 banger is not beat up on.

Re: Looking for a stang

Well i looked in to the cobra. it got hit in the quarter and fixed, guess the paint job needs redone, the clutch chatters at take off. it has 82k on it and has no visible body damage just in need of a paint job. he said its a daily driver for him but needs a truck. Sound worth 2k?

Re: Looking for a stang

Just remember, if it has a salvage title, it has no bank value. If you dump a bunch of money into the car, you will never get it back out of the car unless it is by someone with cash. Banks won't finance salvage titled vehicles.

It does sound like a good buy though

Salvaged titled vehicles are good vehicles to buy if you are going to hot rod, be rough with or just do whatever you want to with them. They are always cheaper to buy and then you can use the extra savings to buy other mods or accessories with any money left over.

As you already know >>> they suck as far as value for re-selling, and in most states you have to tell the prospective new owner that it is a "salvaged title" before they buy it or face repercussions.

I would buy a salvaged Mustang in a minute >>> as long as the work was done right.
