91 mustang 4 cyl dual plug with no spark

91 mustang has no spark...took the car out for a ride about 30 min later when the car was operating temp it shut down...trailered car home...started up and drove to the driveway...next day taking the car to work 5 to 10 of driving shut down...got the car that evening started it up pulled onto the road shut down and thats the last time the car has ran...i have done tons of trouble shooting, replace several parts(too many too list) i can get more in depth if i can find someone that would have any idea as to what is going on...thanks

have you tried a new coil? sounds like the coil could be over heating which would also shut it down, will run fine till it warms up...then bam, off again.


Never mind its one of them fancy ual coil thingys.

Have you looked at changing the ICM (ignition control module) it's located on your intake manifold?

I have tried 2 new coils...dis modual...crank sensor...then last was the pcm...but heres the thing...i have not had all of these parts on the car at the same time...i would put one on try it and take it back to get another part(parts changeing in other words)as of right now i have a new pcm...dis modual and ccrm

When you replace the icm, you have to put the dielectric grease behind it. Be sure to clean the area really well before applying the grease and mounting the icm

-------- added 3 Minutes and 54 Seconds later --------

The ICM's are notorious for failing. They get hot and quit working, shutting off your car. Just like a 5.0L's TFI

Its been cleaned very well but did not put the dielectric grease on...there was some on the dis when i installed it(came off of a donar car that runs)...i know for a fact that it is getting a good ground
