Quick Question

How will I know if i have a standard rotation water pump or reverse? trying to order a new timing cover since mine cracked and I cant for the life of me remember how to tell or which one to order. Thanks Guys

Sorry I can't help you on this one bro, because that reverse rotation B.S. always threw me off too!

Shouldn't matter though as far as the timing cover goes. I think it only matters on whether or not you want the hole in the side for the fuel pump. Well and after looking at the differences in pricing.... Ouch!

If it's a stock 5.0 pump, it's reverse rotation. Another way to tell is if the pump rotates the opposite direction of the crank. Another way to tell is if your belt rides on the pump with the flat side and not on the ribbed side. These all will tell you it's reverse rotation.

USUALLY, if you are running a serpentine belt, you will have a reverse rotation waterpump. And what Dave said.............lol.

Yeah that is what I was thinking too, that if it rides on the back of the belt then it's reverse rotation. Thanks for clearing that up for me too Dave!
