I have tunes for winter blend E85, Summer blend E85, and 91 Octane unleaded on my Xcal 2. When I need to switch between fuels I just plug it in and change the tune. Takes about 30 seconds. Some guys use flip chips so that they can just flip a switch on the dash when they need to change fuels.

my durango can take both, and suggests switching only when the tank is almost empty. but here 87 is 3.46 and E85 is like 3.20. not enough difference to switch.

I had my 91 converted earlier this year and I chuckle everytime I fill up. I know that my fuel is cleaner, cheaper and domestic. It may not be the answer to all the energy issues, but it sure can help. Think about the mileage this way, if you fill your tank with regular 91 octane gas and get 20 -30 mpg, you are using a 100% petrolum product with all the money going to big oil and the OPEC nations. It's also harder on the enviroment. I fill up my tank with E85 and get 20-25 mpg, but only 15%( or as high as 30%) is a petrolum product so the big oil and OPEC doesn't get nearly as much of my money and is easier on the enviroment. Most of my money stays in country and they they get less of it. I am still filling up the same number of times in a week, just paying less for it.

The guy that did my conversion set me up with a SCT flip chip, so I can run it almost empty, fill with gas (if E85 is not available), change the switch position and go on down the road. This set up is better than the factor tunes for Flexfuel vehicles as the computer doesn't have to try to figure out what you are burning and make the adjustment, it already knows. This gives you better mileage/performance from your computer.

Watch this fuel in the future for racing. I went to the dirt track the other night and all (or almost all) the sprint cars are running E85 and loving it. E85 manufacturers are even sponsoring the sprint cars and sprint car racing. I could tell they were running it by the smell in the air. The only ones that were using was the late models.

Lastly, just think 105 octane pump gas for a lot less than 115 octane race fuel with about the same results.

My guy was good. I went to Wichita Dyno and we sat down to discuss what we needed to do and get for the conversion. He gave me an estimate of $1500 - $2000 for the conversion including parts, labor, fuel, dyno pull and tunes. I had him do some other work also, so my final bill was $3400.
