Freakin computers

I've been offline the last couple of days because my computer caught a bug Friday night and died. I'm using the wife's computer now after 3-4 days of trying to recover mine (without sucess). It won't even boot up now. Looks like I'm going to be in the market for a new one.

Bummer Hope it gets resolved quickly for ya.

What about a computer repair place? They could probably check it out for you.. for a fee of course. Might be cheaper than a new one.

Either way, good luck!

Hate to hear that you are having trouble man. My old PC finally pissed me off here awhile back and I bought a new Gateway with all the goodies that I wanted. It was $775 for the tower, mouse, keyboard, speakers....... I already had a new 19" LCD monitor.

Hope you find a good one! I like the hell out of mine. Not cheap,,, but a dam good one still!

I know the feeling, my PC took a power surge hit and the power supply took a hit, that was an easy fix for me 40.00 dollars for a new power supply and I put in myself.

Gateways' are good computers. I bought a Dell, pretty good performance but found out that some of the upgrades are proprietary. i.e. only costly Dell RAM's can be used to upgrade memory for gaming (I am a Call of Duty 4 fanatic), etc.
With a Gateway you can upgrade with less expensive components and get the same performance.

i don't know about all that. i just upgraded the memory on my desktop (which is a dell to 2 Gb and it cost me about $60. (best buy was having a sale on RAM). i think every part of a desktop is able to be swapped out pretty much. could be wrong, but i know that the RAM kicks ass.

Yeah I like to play a few games. The worst one that I have is Doom 3 and it will shut down a regular desktop. I mean it will kick you all the way back to the desktop. I also play Medal of Honor, Tiger Woods, Resident Evil, and other such games.

My Gateway came with 2 Gigs of Ram, the better video card and a dam good dual core processor. I love it and it works like a charm.

johnisbubba better get some kick ass virus protection....... It is worth every penny that I spend for the McAfee Internet Security Suite. $65 for 4 computers a year.......... I surf when I want and where I want.... IF you know what I mean!
