Pinion Seal

Any of you guys know how hard it is to replace a pinion seal on these 7.5 rears?

Mine's leaking pretty bad. My uncle said he'd do the work if it's just a matter of taking off the driveshaft and replacing the seal there. If he has to mess with the gears, he wont do it.

I have an extended warranty up to 100,000 miles, I'll call the garage Monday and see if it's covered.

If not... what am I looking at??

Thanks for the help guys

Re: Pinion Seal

It's pretty straight forward. Your uncle should have no problem changing the seal.

Re: Pinion Seal

Called the garage and the warranty company this morning.

Have an appt tomorrow morning for them to look at it and see what's wrong.

The warranty company said, without an official diagnosis, the pinion seal and bearings are covered parts. I asked about the gears, but they wouldnt specify, saying they needed a diagnosis first (more than likely they are covered, probably cant upgrade though LOL).

So that worry is over, hopefully. My window motor needed replaced a while back and it was covered 100% even labor, so hopefully my warranty helps me with this problem too!

Thanks again for all the help =)

Re: Pinion Seal
