New heads!

I just got a pair of GT40X Aluminum heads! Are they decent heads? I didn't pay alot for them, I know they will be better than stock.

They are going on a stock bottom end 5.0 with professional product intake,
70mm T/B, SQ/V2 charger and maybe a TFS1 cam! The exhaust is done as well. The heads are as new for they were on a car for two months only. The owner said the heads took away the cars daily driver driveability!! I paid a grand for them. In the world of heads I think that is a pretty good deal for brand new. Im hoping for a solid 400 hp at the wheels. Am I getting close?

I would think 400 is possible.

What chamber size are they? What final compression? Do you plan on running an intercooler of any kind? What boost level will you see with that blower? What fuel do you plan to run?

Those heads will work perfect with a blower. They do have pretty large chambers, so they'll lower the compression. 64cc if I remember correctly. With the V2 you'll be well over 400 hp.

I checked out the heads and they are 58cc chamber size. This will boost up the compression some. Am I getting a little high in the compression range
for a blower? I have no plans to run a intercooler at this time. I have no plans to up the boost past the 8,10 lbs I have now! If I can get away with running premium pump gas I will be happy. The fuel system is prolly going to need a upgrade as well. I can see new injectors and MAS coming soon. Ditch the FMU
and get tuning done. This is starting to get a little more in depth than a couple
bolt ons. I guess it is what it takes to go fast in a EFI car!!!!

Your static compression is gonna be about 10:1. That's a little high for boost on pump gas at low elevations. If you can find some thick head gaskets, like 0.070 or 0.080, that'll drop you to 9.0 - 9.2:1. Cometic will make gaskets in any thickness for you, and they are reusable.

That's interesting. They used to only build them with the 64cc chambers. I looked it up and, sure enough, they make 58s now.
