Rpm shift?

what RPM range dose everyone shift at I am going 2 the track friday and i need 2 run beter than the last time .
I ran an 15.85 1/4 but that was with a blown head gasket.
got all that fixed and some more any suggestions would be nice thanks 2 all

Take it out on a back road and wind it up good and watch where your motor stops pulling strong and then shift just before that. That is the only way you will really know what your motor will do. Over revving the motor will not gain you anything but a slower time. But you also need the most out of it too! You will just have to do it trial and error. You will feel when the motor stops pulling strong and then you will be able to pick the right shift point. Later, Allen...

id suggest right around 5250.. thats where the torque and HP figures cross on almost every factory 5.0
