I have a problem

The car will run okay but for some reason when you are coming down in the RPMs the car will just dye. Other times the car will just surge like go from idleing at 1000 rpms to 100 then back up or die depending on the day. I have put 3 different IAC valves on the car granted they werent brand new but one of them should have helped. I am wondering if it is the fuel pump or maybe the timing if off the car has never done this before until I fixed the head gaskets the right way then it did not do it for a while then it started doing this all the sudden. Like I said the car runs good other than these problems oh and of course the exhaust leak that I cant seem to find. PLEASE HELP with this problem.

The IAC is different but the mass air meter going bad could be an issue all though it is only like 2 years old.

Look for a vacuum line off also. Also look at the heated wire on the mass air sensor and see if it is dirty, have seen this cause problems also.

I havent tried the idle screw yet cause the car never did this before so I figured as long as its tight then it should be in the same position s before when it ran great all the time. But I will check it and adjust if need be. Thanks jinxd and koolkat

We had a similar problem on my brothers car when we first got it finished. It would die at stopsigns and just about die any time you got off of the throttle. Other than that it ran great. We added a MSD 6AL and opened the plug gap to .50 and never had the problem again.

had a similar issue especially when it was warm or hot outside.. finally we replaced the fuel regulator and it went away but it would die and not be able to start or run for about an hour at some occasions..
