Re: temp?

Ditch the push/pull fans! I have never been a fan of them, and you need the hot air flowing in one direction, and that is to the back and out!

My Mustang had a Black Magic electric fan and I really liked it! It was a power hog and pulled a lot of juice, BUT it cooled the car down really fast and it had an adjustable temperature module on it. So you could watch the gauge and adjust it to your liking.
Of course my adjustable temp sensing unit crapped out when I changed the motor out in the car, so I just wired it to a toggle switch and usually only ran it in traffic or the drive thru. It always ran cool driving down the road without any fan at all.

P.S. I don't know your exact fan set up, but you could look into seeing whether or not you can change the direction of flow on the pusher fan into a puller fan. I know that some fans will work as either a pusher or a puller by changing the wiring. So you might want to check into that. Other than that >>> I don't have anymore ideas. Sorry!

Re: temp?

I use one that pulls it through its on the back side just in case it heats up while driving it goes the same direction as the wind. Mine is a Big 16 inch fan and i also have it on a toggle switch works fine for me.

Yep you need more fan FOR SURE !! the bigger rad needs more fan to cool it then a smaller one.

I will measure mine today once the sun is out and I can see but Im pretty sure it is slim enough to fit..

where is your smallest clearance? the crank/blower pulley ? 2.75 inch ya say? I know on mine the smallest clearance is the water pump/ele fan motor so without measuring....IF your crank/blower pulley dont stick out past the water pump pulley your golden

I will get exact measurements but I think a sn-95 cobra ele fan might be perfect for ya, they are same motor as the mark8 fans just a different blade setup (smaller) but pulls some major amperage. A high amp alt and relay will be needed.

Re: temp?

just checked and my 95 cobra fan is 3 in thick. however i think it could be positioned just right so the fan motor (thickest part) is not by the crank pulley

Re: temp?

I'm running the Black Magic Xtreme S electric fan. It moves 3300 cfm, which is very good and more than most fans that I have found anywhere. You will want to upgrade the alternator to at least 130 amp to cover all the power the fan and other stuff will pull. It has an adjustable temp probe that goes through the radiator by where the inlet hose comes in on the upper passenger side. Black Magic also has an entire cooling system set up that includes an aluminum radiator, fan and such. Flex-a-lite 52185 - Flex-a-lite Aluminum Radiator and Fan Kits - Overview - SummitRacing.com
