Some more progress on the SVO (pics)

Been doing little bits and pieces the past few weeks on the SVO. I had a hard time pulling the car from the back yard to the driveway because the brakes were sticking. I had the wife pulling it with the riding lawn mower while I pushed and steered. I figured from that it was time to do some brake work. I installed new front calipers, pads, hoses, repacked the wheel bearings and installed new ball joint dust boots on the front. Then I rebuilt the rear calipers and installed new pads and even a new master cyl. So its pretty much all new brakes.

For the interior I sourced some dash bezels and new shifter boot. I also installed a GT style steering wheel. Since I cant afford to get my SVO wheel redone right now, I'm going for a 90% solution at the moment.

The engine was put back together more with coolant lines being the biggest PITA. Pipes, elbows and clamps all over the place. I installed an original radiator from a buddys 5.0 mustang and a Lincoln Mk VIII fan. I still need to wire the alternator and get a fan controller. I installed some coolant and oil at last today as well as power steering fluid and brake fluid with all I did on that.

I installed the battery from my GT and tried to see what I get. Fuel pump runs all the time. Temp gauge pegs out without being connected. Fuel line leaks. I emptied all the old gas and put in a few gallons of fresh regular. I get crank but no start. I still need an o2 sensor and fix the TPS wiring. Havnt even checked for spark because of the fuel leak. I received the rear tires in the mail today so I'll probably get them mounted on Friday. The bullit wheel is just on there because it actually holds air. Its trashed and is the only one I have.

Lookin good. What are you going to do with the SVO rims? I have my eyes on one but it doesnt have the rims on it.

I'm going to keep them and possibly get them refinished down the road. One of them has a ding and all of them could stand to be refinished.

looks sweet i miss mine had a black85svo as my first car when i was in high school. Should have kept it but I wanted 5.0 power.

I just found 8 svo rims for sale here in WA, They look brand new. I still need to find a booth and paint the 85 I have tore down, I just dont want to throw any paint job on it.
