Cranks, but won't fire

Ok...Got the new tranny in the kid's Stang. Went to crank it up so we get the fluid in and fill the tranny. But, she just cranks and won't fire. We are getting spark and air, but no fuel. Fuel pump doesn't engerize/prime and the injectors don't seem to get any power. We can rag it and it will try to fire, but nothing more to sustain it. We ran a hot wire straight from the battery to the fuel pump and it will power up and run, but still will not start and run. We have checked the fuses and they are all good. We thought it might be the fuel pump relay in the Constant Control Relay. We swapped it with an known good one off of a running sister car and still no start. We even took what we thought was a bad CCR and put it on the sister car and it cranked right up. The inertia switch is good and connected. We are all scratching our heads on this one. Anyone have any ideas?

have you checked the fuel cutoff switch i think it should be located in the trunk on the drivers side, or its in the kick panel on the passenger side footwell

Re: Cranks, but won't fire

there are some fuse links under the hood you might want to check.

That is odd tho.

Im not real good with the 4 cyls but Im pretty sure they are close. with the pump riged and having sparkbut not running tells me the injectors are prolly not "working"... you can check at the injectors and see if your getting power to them. IF you have power then the ground sig to fire them is the issue.

not sure what the IGN module has running through it..I would think spark only but its something ya might want to look into.

Are you refering to the inertia switch? If you are, we have checked that.

Thanks. We will take a look at the fuseable links and the grounds. I have a funny feeling it is a wiring issue, just not sure.

We hot wired the fuel pump straight from the battery and it would engerize and run. Would it do that if it was bad and would that affect the injectors?

Not on a 4 banger. It is in a box with the fan and a/c realy on the passenger fenderwell. The box is located in the same location the MAF is mounted to on V8 car. We checked that box and it is good. Put it on another 4 banger and it cranked right up.
