clutch cable problems....

Wats up guys it me again, Now a Mech. around the corner say's i need a clutch cable because it doesn't self adjust and adjusting it by hand doesn't work, so he said i need a new cable. Now the cable is not broken and when U push down the pedal the cable pulls when you are underneath. So what you guys think? i'm beating myself over this one So can i get some in put cuz it's about to cost me another cable and if i don't need one i'm not gonna get one. Please help an Insane brother Out....... LOL

Re: clutch cable problems....

how old is your clutch? Your clutch cable will usually get really hard to move or just start sticking when you run it in and out.....if the clutch is going bad, it will have alot of the same type of symptoms such as having to push the pedal all the way to the floor in order to start the car.......but if the clutch is newer and the cable is still original, it may have rust inside the liner which will mean you need a new cable....

Yup I went and got a new cable hopefully it works. Can the hook gear under the dash get messed up that it won't adjust? Or i'm just over thinking and i'm going fry my brain. LOL Thanx

I think they can.. the factory plastic ones are junk. I replaced mine with a adj alum one cuz mine was broke.

Before you try it you can see IF both cables are the same length. IF your old one is way longer then the new one you know.
