ignition help anybody??

I just bought a 87 lx notch with a 2300, 5 speed, and i can't get it to start with the key, i put a new ignition switch in it yesterday and that didn't work. if i take a screwdriver and arc the cylenoid it fires up just fine and fast no problems at all i just can't get it to start with the key. can anybody help?

well if you arc the solenoid and it starts, i would say your solenoid is bad. there is also a relay switch in there under the hood that could be the problem, i know on my 83 5.0 i had the same type of prob and replaced the relay and was good to go. mine was located on the right inner fender....sorry the exact name right now slips my mind, someone else may know it.

There is also a fuse under the dash according to shopkey.com
