i dont want to go too wild on compression cuz i drive this car alot and need to run on pump gas, same goes for the cams, i still need to maintain a fair amount of streetability. i was thinking of the 268ah's as a good compromise

i'm looking for a 6200-6500 redline

My 270s were great for driveability. If you degree your cams in properly, it will cure MOST of the problems assosiated with driveabilty and idling with these cars. I also had Crower stage III 4V cams and didn't have any driveability issues with those either.

Main thing is you need to get the cams timed in really close and then get a got tune.

Well. Depends. My buddy had a PI swapped flattoped 96 GT. IT pinged quite a bit on 91 pump gas. But it also had a pretty aggressive tune on it. I would say you would be OK with 12:1, but you WOULD have to run 93. The CCs on the 2Vs aren't the greatest...and that is the main thing. You can do it...but make sure you have a safe tune...then when you run race gas and the SAUCE....you will love it. If you can fine like a small 5cc dish piston...it would be sweet. It would put you in the 11:1 comp...
