Nittos

Anyone got an experience with the 555R's? If so how did you like them? I am looking at either ordering these or the Hoosier Drag Radials. They will be running on 17X8 wheels. So what would you guys recommend that I get.

I am just expecting track time out of them. I am just waning to know which one would be better for the track. Also I have no idea why I posted this in the 05 and up forum. But if you guys could give me your opinion it would help a lot.

The neighbor uses a set of Hoosier drag radials at the strip on his supercharged Cobra. They hook really well. Pretty soft compound so I wouldn't expect years of passes out of them.

-------- added 1 Minutes and 54 Seconds later --------

i just cant seem to cut a 60' lower than 1.995 no matter what i try, and ive tried every technique imaginable

Dont get the 555 drag radials... i imagine the 555 II's might be pretty good but if you want to hook get the hoosiers!! Thats what i have the quick time pro's.. if you want to bog or spin (pick one) then get the Nitto.. I've had two sets 1 set on a fox the other on a 03 cobra and when there cold there they turn into plastic.. they wouldnt be bad for a street tire because they offer better grip then a Z rated radial and last the longest out of all drag radials

I had the 555r's and they are better then any regular street tire at the strip but if you are only going to run them at the track then get the hoosiers.

there great on the street, nice trade off between traction and grip on the street. i put about 4000 miles on mine and they still have 3/4 tread left atleast. but dont get your hopes up when it comes to strip performance. i think next time i will try mickey thompson drag radials, a friend of mine has a 94 that runs 11.30s on those with a completly stock rear suspension and i strait hooks!

Same here i had the Nitto DRs 305-40-18s i did not like them either! they did not Hook for me at the track! I had the BFGs DRs in a 275-40-17s and they hooked. The M/T Drag radials are awesome! everyone that ive talked too about these love them. But like everyone else said if they are only for track duty then get some Hoosiers or M/T ET streets! I have the M/T Et streets in a 17in and them things HOOK!! my best 60ft has been a 1.67 worst a 1.80!
