Tire question
I'm in need of some new tires. I was wanting to get a new set of rims also, but it's just not in the budget right now. So....what is the widest tire I can get on the stock wheels of an 01 GT? Is it recommended? Can I put the same size on the front and back, or should I just try to get a little wider in the back? Will I run into any problems at all? Sorry if I'm sounding like a newb.

i take it now if you are running stock you have 245's on their now. you are safe to go to a 255 on stock wheels..cause stock wheels say your good from 7.5 - 9 inch, anything bigger then that you need a wider wheel

So 255/45/17? Would that be all the way around? No clearance issues?

i was running 255/45/17's on my 96 with no issues. i now have cobra wheels and am running the 255's on front and 275's on back...did you see my tire thread?

I must not have. When you were running 255s, could you tell it was a little wider by looking at it?

i guess so....i bought it with the 255's on it

Got 275/40 17's on mine, that's on 17x9 wheels . I know 02blackstallion has the same size front and back . His is lowered 1.5" , with no rubbing.

I have 275 40 17 on 17 x 9 in the front
