Bbk Cai

Anyone had any experience, good and bad, with the BBK CAI? Found a good deal on one.

the one i got is the true CAI with the filter element in the fender, not under the hood. How difficult is the install? i heard the JLT true CAI is a pain to install.

Okay, so i got the CAI and put it on. yes, i love it and it was pretty easy to do. but now i'm wondering, does the filter need oil? i heard that some filters (K&N i think) need oil, but there is nothing on BBK's website or in the instructions about it. by the way, the car now has a sick hiss at 3/4 throttle and sounds like an anrgy drunk at WOT. fuckin awesome!

on my stang you can hear the cai sucking in the air. sounds like a light turbo spool. the install wasn't too bad... took about one hour cuz i didn't have all the right tools.

the only problem i had was the factory cut out for the air box had a metal lip on it that spaced the CAI tube about 1/8 of an inch from the lip. so i took 550 cord and looped it around the intake, and then around the lug nuts. then i just spun the spindle backwards and it pulled the entire CAI tube down about 1/4 of an inch more, so then there was plenty of room. i was just gonna cut the lip off with a drimmel, but my battery was dead and i didn't want to wait 4 hours to finish.
