Took off the mufflers

Well I got tired of a quite car so I took off the factory mufflers today. It sure seemed to help it breath. And it's really not that loud with the cats still on it. I cut one of the mufflers open and can't believe how they where made! There's a reason that they don't flow do well I guess lol. The inlet dumps in to a chamber which it has to force it's self back past the incoming exhaust then bounce off the end of the muufler and go back out a pipe on the opposet side.

Are you going to replace them or do without?

Do without tell I get my slp cat back. I just welded in a piece of pipe in there place. It's really not that loud I think my bronco with the flowmaster is louder.

thats what I did with my truck, left the cats on and just straight piped the rest straight out the back.

I don't think the loss of back pressure will hurt anything. I've looked a lot at exhaust info and with the cats still there and it being a car it's not going to hurt it. It has made the car rev more freely which is nice.

i haven't found any probs with the SLP 1's on my car, only noticable difference is it blows more smoke without the cats on there.
