F150 question

I was looking at the moates chip and was wondering if my 2002 f150 has a j3 port anyone know???

Re: F150 question

Im not very familiar with the Moats chip, but from what I found on the net it is for the 87-95 Fords. You have an OBD2 port that allows access to your trucks computer, not sure what a j3 port is, but if thats what they call the port on the older ford computer, then you dont have that.

Im not familiar with the hand held tuners but I know a little about moates.
It works on pre 2005, the newer the car the better/easier it is.

pre 95 is a OBDI car. The J3 port is where you stuff a SCT/moates chip or a tweecer or whatever you use to tune it with. 95 and up is OBDII which is much better.. last I herd (been out of it a while) they was a OBDIII coming that was going to be even better.


Its a good product IF you can use it. it is way cheaper but the hand helds are so user friendly they are worth the extra money.. or so I hear !!
