4 cyl performance questions.

I currently have an n/a 4 cyl in my 91 coupe, but i would really like to turbo it. I know the easiest and best way to do so is to get a donor car and do a whole engine swap, I plan to do that at some point but not right now. If I have a turbo and intercooler and can flip the manifold and weld it up to work, is it possible to make this work. I know I will have to get bigger injectors and just get the air/fuel right, but will this just totaly screw with the computer? Is it possible to have the turbo work with the mass air rather than the vane air meeter? I've asked lots of people but nobody can help, because I haven't found anyone that has tried. If none of this is likely to work, does anyone know of some performance stuff I can do to the stock engine till I do the swap, I'm not looking to do anything to serious but little stuff. I have home made CAI but am running into problems with too much air and not enough fuel. Thanks for any help.
