Water Intrusion

Has anyone heard of there being water leak issues with the 2010s? I have had mine repaired or attempted twice now. The last time they replaced a door seal and it held for about 6 months but now I have water all in the floor board again.

I am wondering if there is a tolerance missed on the drivers side door. Carpets are all moldy now and I know over time the cancer called rust will set in.

Just when I decide to keep the 4.6 it looks like a lemon law claim is on the horizon.

Re: Water Intrusion

Yes dropped it off today. This is the third attempt to fix it so they are planning on stripping the whole interior and applying water... The carpets have to be completely replaced as does the felt. This should take a good week or so.

Re: Water Intrusion

I love ford and will own nothing else! However, maybe I was meant to have a 5.0 and if not this one will be fixed. I have questioned it alot internally. I honestly did not know about the 5.0 coming out when I bought this one or I would have waited.

Who knows things happen for a reason (I hope).

Cool Re: Water Intrusion

Well they think they found the issue with the door seal yet again. They say there were some retaining clips missing on the front of the door. I am not one to argue but it has been leaking sitting still in my driveway. It seems to me if it was on the front of the door would have to be moving to experience the leak.

I have to say I am at a loss. they have cleaned and dried the carpet and we are looking at rain all next week so they want me to take it now before they replace the carpet and felt and see if it leaks.

I know I did say I was not impressed with the 5.0 and I stand by that. However, I can not see keeping this car with a leak that cant be fixed or they cant find after 3 tries. In my mind I am looking at a rust bucket.

Would you take a severance type payment and use it for mods and aftermarket repairs or should I go for the lemon law and get the 5 liter? I do love this car and I really did not like the feel of the 11'.

Just looking for thoughts here!

Re: Water Intrusion

IMO the new 5.0 is really impressing me with what it has been running and the numbers its making for only being out a short time and retaining next to stock form. if i was in the market to throw down some bucks for a new car, this would be it. the 4.6 although a strong solid platform requires some form of power adder to achieve the same results.

You drive your stang in the rain, and then let it sit in the rain! You got some guts, the only time mine comes out of the garage is when the forcast calls for
